the chasm between us
grows larger each day
as we lay here together
only inches away
the depth of the rift
grown too deep to be seen
it's blackness expands
swallowing the brightest sheen
the silence in the void
speaks louder than screams
as we lay here together
no longer as it seems
at some point it will crumble
it's weight to much to bare
a divide we cannot fix
a shared lifetime we cannot repair
